save only drawing as image, not screen

Hi,

I'm trying to save my drawing in an image format. When I try "Save Copy As" or "Export" I am left with the drawing as well as the gray Inventor background from my current view. I only want to save the drawing within its boundaries, not the sheet and Inventor background, or whatever happens to be on my screen. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks

Go to Tools>Document Settings>Sheet and click on the Sheet color square

Change to White.

Go to Start (lower left corner of screen) and start typing Snip and select Snipping tool.

Snip the part of the screen you want.

You can also print to pdf.

Or if you can't edit pdf you could use a docprint printer driver.

There are some free on the net.

Kind of a bummer there's no option to do this. If I open it in Autocad I seem to have more options.

Is snipping tool REALLY the best option available for software that costs thousands of dollars???!

Hi Brad,

You can export any Inventor file as an image. Go to File -> Export -> Image. Have you tried that?

Many thanks!
