resetting dimensions

I'm using Inventor 2010.

i've got a model of which i'm producing a drawing, but when i add the dimensions - they appear all over the place. my thinking is that perhaps i've got to reset the UCS or something. - its as if the dims are on the wrong plane.

anybody help?

Thanks

Please post a screen shot..

Are you just manually placing dimensions? Or trying to use the automatic dimensioning?

If you right click on the view and go to 'General Dimension Type' is it currently set to TRUE ? If it is set it to PROJECTED instead and try adding the dimensions again.

This will happen if your drawing view is not Normal to the part / assembly work planes Inventor assumes you have placed an ISO view.
