placing dwg in assy

I've started an assy and when I want to place a component I get a notice: The file into which you are placing...has not been saved.etc.
What does this mean? And, how can it be resolved? What am I doing wrong?

In other words, the part you just created has not
been saved.  It must be saved prior to placing into an
assembly.

I usually created a part. Create an assembly that
it can be put in.  But before I can put that part into that assembly, it
must be saved.  Hope it makes sense.

All the parts that go into the assy where saved at one time. Somehow, some of the parts got a unresolve link. How? I don't know what I did wrong. I there a way I can resolve the saved problem?

I've seen this before, but it has not caused any
problems.  I usually save the assembly after a few parts are put in and all
is fine.  You say you are having resolve issues?

Yes, when I place hardware, from the library, into the assy and close inventor, when I reopen Inv. I'll get unresolved links.(question marks next to the item in the brouser) What happened and how can it be resolved?

I was referring to starting a new assembly after a
project file is already setup.  In your case you need to add the library
path to you project file.

How do I add the file to the project file?

go to Projects, RMB library search paths, and add the path to where your library parts are located.

Sounds easy, but, I'm new to inventor. What is RMB, is it in the lower portion of the project list? How do I add the library of parts in it? I'm still lost.

RMB = Right Mouse Click

For library parts, click the drop-down ("Model") at the top of the browser
in assembly view....

In the File-Open Dialog, hit the "Projects" icon and Rght Click over
"Library Search Paths" and select Add Path.
