panel issues

Whenever I use a control panel - such as EXTRUDE OR CONSTRAINTS - it disappears from view.  I can mouse over it and it will show bits and pieces as I pick but doesn't show up

I have un-installed and re-installed the system.

It used to run just fine but have been fighting it for the last year, then a final re-install 3 days ago - no change in problem, but actually it is a little worse.

Makes no difference if it is the only program running or AutoCAD is running also.

It is Inventor 11

It is on Windows XP

NVidia GeForce 4 MX 420 Video Card

All this was a matched set when new and nothing has been updated to newer equipment that would cause a mis-match.

Try going to Tools>Application Options>Hardware tab and set on lowest setting.

Have you updated your Graphics Card?

All Service Packs and Hot Fixes (Updates)?

Yes - Updated driver - still the same problem.

Did all the "normal" stuff.

Checking to see if anyone else has this problem and to see if they found a fix that worked.

I tried the HardWare change - Selected
USE OPTIMIZATION SETTINGS RECOMMENDED BY AUTODESK (1st one)

Will try others if this doesn't work.

I appreciate the replies - thanks

Given that Inventor 11 is nearly 8 years old - you might have trouble finding relevant information for your problem.

Not sure how you are (re)activating the license, but I recommend

Reformating the HDD to OOTB condition.

Install all Windows updates for your version of OS.

Install graphics card updates.

Install and run MS Excel.

Install Inventor.

Reformating is out - Tooooo many things will have to be done.

Updates are automatic
Graphics updated
MS Office PRO installed
re-installed Inventor - not better not worse

Thanks for the info
