not the same flexible hose question

I have had success creating flexible hose assemblies in larger assemblies, however I need to make drawings of these hoses in a straight configuration. You know, cut hose to this length, swage on fittings. How can I use the same model in the drawing as in the assembly. I was thinking if driving the node points to be constrained to a line in the drawing representation.

Personally, I would do this in a note, instead of creating another view that
shows the overall size.

Or a tabulated drawing for several hoses with one general, broken view.
What's the value of showing ten feet of half inch hose and wasting a bunch of extra pieces of paper?

I would just add the unit length to my BOM table and have each hose length
shown in your BOM. You can get each hose length as well as a rolled up
length.

I am trying to keep associativity between the part and the drawing. I want to be able to route a hose through an assembly as i see fit and not care about its length or shape. Then have a drawing that shows the same assembly with the hose straight, not routed. I am aware that I could make a dumb drawing, but I then need to make sure they always match. Also, who wants a routed shape on their drawing unless the hose was thermomolded to that shape.
