motion

Have attached a simple assembly..i have constrained the parts but how do i get the shaft/Fan to spin inside the case?

Do you mean you want to shaft and fan to spin together? If so.. mate constrain the xy origin plane of the shaft with the xy origin plane of the fan

Then when you "spin" either one they both move together..

Thanks...done

 

Now is there a way to have the shaft/fan spin by applying some sort of button.Press the button (or other means) and then watch it spin around

Look into "Drive Constraint" in help.

I am still not getting how to make it turn ..  do i use a motion constraint?

Add an angle constraint between the shaft and the grounded part (case) and then Drive Constraint.
