I notcied someone mentioned Office 2010 Starter/Excel 2010Starter. This link might help:

It that isn't the issue, I'd suggest starting a new thread on the Inventor Installation forum:

I tried the script but that didn't work.

But I found something that worked for me.

Just have the excel document open when you try to link it.
