installed 2011 SP1 now can't open program

I deleted a view in an .idw and IV crashed, it came back recc to install the SP1. I did so and now when I try to run the program i get an error message stating:

Inventor.exe is not currently registered and did not correctly re-rigister on start up. This is probably because you do not have enough acess rights(eg you are a restricted user) Ask an administartor or standard used to re-run the program for you.

I am a single used on a laptop and have full access.

I'm in a time crunch for some drawings, what can I do to get the program to run???!!

thanks!

Paul

Right click on the Inventor Desktop Icon and select "Run as Administrator..."

OK that worked, but will I have to do this everytime I open it now?

It still wont launch if I click on,  for example, an .ipt file that is sitting on the desktop or in a folder.

You shouldn't have to, try a restart.

Did you have virus protection and UAC turned off during installation?

Arrgh I did not turn off virus and user account...will this adversely affect the update?

THanks,

Paul

Depending on what is being updated, it could. If executable's or DLL's need to be registered in the Window Registry.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file
