How's this? Save as .bmp from the .idw file, then insert the file to MSWORD.
You can convert it to .jpg first to make it smaller using Ms PAint or other
Image utilities. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Save IDW to a dwf format and insert an object into word doc
or you can open the dwf in volo view and copy and paste into the word doc.

If you have Adobe Photoshop, try this:

Save as BMP from IV. Open in Photoshop and choose "Save for Web"; adjust
picture size and set type to GIF.
This gives excellent, smooth pictures IMO.

Insert GIF in Word (Insert > Picture > From file....).

Vector or raster? For vector you want to put the file in acad and make a wmf or dxf (I'm pretty sure word takes in wmf). For bitmap it won't look so good but you can save as bmp, alt print screen, or save to a post script driver.

Hello,
I suggest to insert DXF into WORD. If you try it in WORD with a DXF-file it will works. But there is another problem, the export of DXF-files from Inventor7 is working wrong. All dimensions are gone. Is there someone who have informations how it works?

A method with descent success and ease. Print the sheet you want as a PDF,
open in Acrobat and save as JGP. This method has much better resolution
than "save as BMP" and is easier to control image layout, plus you have a
PDF which can be read by everyone.
