how to split a surface?

Hello All,

I want to apply a pressure load on portion of a surface in my INVENTOR solid model. My problem is that i cannot split the surface in inventor easily. Any help how this can be done? I did it my creating a separate surface with an offset that i reduced to almost zero. Not sure if this would do. Pls see the screen shot attached.

Thanks!

Jimmy

Creating a separate surface body is not correct method.

Simply Split the part face.

Attach your file here if you can't figure out how.

Thanks for the reply. I would appreciate it if you can just briefly decribe the command(s) you would use to do that since sending it to u to do it for me may not help me very much. How do i split the part face? Which command does that in inventor?

Thanks!

Split.

I don't understand why examining the part would not be instructive.

I learned Inventor by examining parts posted here.

The history tree preserves the technique.

You could have saved me a lot of work by simply attaching your file in your first post.

I just got it done with the help of my support team in house.

Thanks!
