how do you flatten this circle into a straight piece?

How do i flatten this circle part so it is a straight bar?

How do you measure the length while it is in a circle shape?

Thank you

Damian

the length would be Pi x Diameter ... if you have a circle part in Sheet metal you'll need to put a cut or RIP (command) in it to be able to flatten. It can't unless it knows there is a break in the solid

This might be an easier way to create the part.

Thank you

I worked out how to unfold the part so i could apply a pattern. The end result came very close. Can you show me how to make a pattern which fits equally.I have a 0.603 measurement when they are refolded. It is very close but if there is a way to apply the pattern to fit equally or with parameters it would be easier as i guessed the number in the pattern

The file is 1.89mb....could there be a way to model  in which a same look but smaller filer size

Thank you

Are there ways to get correct pattern in this model.Where the part joins it is very slightly out.Can equations be used to figure out correct spacing?

Thanks

please see attached

When the part is refolded the measurement is 0.603 (small variance) whereas the other lengths are 0.6

Is there a method in which you can have all of the pattern equal in distance?

Does this require parameters or formulas?

Thanks

Damian

When you bend metal it stretches.

What is the tolerance of your manufacturing process?
