i'm at 10:37 on the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mCptIvFQN4&feature=youtu.be
thanks
because you only have 1 solid body so you can't pick anything but that..
Notice how his solids folder has a (2) after it and yours only a (1)..
You missed a step somewhere..
OMG THANKS. ALL I HAVE TO DO EXTRA IS EDIT THE LOFT
AND I JUST CLICK THE 'NEW SOLID' BUTTON
THANKS MUNCHIES!
I ATTACHED UPDATED FILE =3
Hi alodiakawii,
I think you're asking about the action of Revolution4 in "audi rim.ipt". I hope I understood correctly!
Before you made Revolution4, your part had two bodies, Solid1 and Solid2. In the Revolution dialog you clicked the "intersect" button and you chose Solid2 as the body to combine the revolution with. It might be easier to understand the result if try this:
- first make Solid1 not visible because it doesn't play any role in the revolution
- make the same revolution as Revolution4 but make it as a new body (instead of "intersect"). I'll assume the result will be called Solid3.
- look at where Solid2 (the loft) and Solid3 intersect in space
- use "Combine" to intersect Solid 2 and Solid 3
Does the result of that Combine make sense?
Choosing the "intersect" button in the Revolve dialog is a shortcut for doing the same as the above.
Hope that helps,
Jean
