ghost box on screen, video driver setting??

I have a "ghost box" that stays on screen after opening a tool like measure
which has a drop down. If I pick any option from the drop down, then I get
a "ghost box". It will go away as soon as I pan or zoom, but it is annoying.
Is it my graphics card setting? I'm not sure how it should be set up for the
best performance with IV6.
Any help or suggestions would be great.

I occasionally get a ghost box around my cursor in 5.3 and 6 and my video
driver doesn't seem to make a difference.

try

RMB on desktop / properties (don't recall which tab) but look for effects.
Uncheck this box. Sometimes the fade effect can hang up and produce what
you are seeing...

You should have no problems with that card...

Try this in Win2K and XP Pro - Turn off pointer Shadow (Control Panel - Mouse),
Turn off Use Transition Effects (Control Panel-Display) These settings will
affect all systems regardless of card & driver.

Thanks guys. I've been putting up with this too because I had assumed it
would take some serious voodoo to fix such a graphics problem. That's why I
need to read every post in this NG.
