When saving the file click Options and set the Units to the same as the document units.

This still does not work for me, I saved copy as, then changed the dropdown for unit type to Inches, the unit I've been using, and it still isn't sized correctly when put into the slicer I use to print.

Hi! STL is unitless. It requires users to set the output unit and document unit in sync to have the right scale. What is the unit Printer uses? Please try the following.

1) Create a cube of 1in x 1in x 1in.

2) Save it.

3) Export it to STL and set Options to the printer unit.

4) Send it to the printer.

Is the scale correct?

Many thanks!
