dwf save as

Hello, I thought I`d give the dwf/express viewer a chance after I got a look
at some "other" similar (not really) software called e-drawings.

Well, I use the save as dwf option and create a dwf file. When I open it in
express viewer (3.*) I get a grey page...now I know enough to try and zoom
extend the page. (My customers will not know this) But all I get is a yellow
page without any views, not even the border. Whats up ?

I guess I`ll go back to my Acrobat again....oh my, that e-drawings was
sweet...

Regards,
Jorgen

Might want to try this

https://projectpoint.buzzsaw.com/betaprograms/DWFwriter/Readme.html?public

It installs as a virtual printer. So far it's worked OK.

But PDFs are still the doc format of choice around here

Hi

Currently users are advised to work with Autodesk Express Viewer (Build
3.1.0.76) AND NOT (Build 3.1.0.92).

Will be fixed in next release

The Current Release on Autodesk Web Site is not good
Use the release provided on the AutoCAD/AutoCAD Mechanical/MDT2004 CD.

I'm using build 3.0.0.55 and have been very happy with it. I "upgraded"
last week to the current download version and experienced the same problems
as you. I quickly unloaded and "upgraded" back to old build to set things
right. The current download version is terrible and how Autodesk can let
that sit there in that state without pulling or patching it is disgusting.
If they are serious about this DWF stuff then they BETTER GET THEIR $^(!
TOGETHER.

Thanks for the info, Ill give it a try. They should really remove the file
if it`s bogus.

These issues are known to us and will be addressed.

The reason that the build is still available on our website is that this is
predominantly a problem that occurs with dwf files created only in Inventor.
The vast majority of Autocad Express Viewer users do not use Autodesk
Inventor.

If you would like a more technical response on issues with this viewer, you
can most likely find it in the autodesk.express.viewer newsgroup. Here the
developers of the viewer and our support technicians can give you a more
detailed response. (I realise that this is just a general discussion, but
thats just FYI)

Richard, don't expect to win too many allies here with that kind of
response.

Why not have a download available for IV users (Build 3.1.0.76) and a
download available for others (Build 3.1.0.92)? This should have been fixed
the second it was realized to be flawed. To just let the problem hang there
like you folks are is without valid excuse. Quality control - hah!

Your marketeers are out preaching the praises of DWF, then your "flagship"
mcad product doesn't even work with the available viewers (EV or VV) without
obvious and significant flaw. Get with the program.

I can understand why PDF has grown to be the favour of many.
