display background?

Group,

I'm just trying to do some impressive screen shots for a customer and (first
time in life) really appreciate those nice backgrounds and shadows. I like
to have the grid resembling a floor with the shadow on it - very nice for
items standing on the floor.
But now I'm designing an overhead conveyor and would need to have a grid
like a ceiling and the shadow falling on the floor... Anybody has any idea
how to get this without going through a rendering program?

Make a BMP to use as a background.

This one was too simple - just open an existing background image with the
Photo Editor, flip it 180 degrees, save under different name, finished...

He said he still wants the shadow on the floor. No change is necessary.

Hi,

The shadow is still falling on the floor, like in real life. Just there is
no grid on the floor, but on the ceiling.
And yes, it does look really nice altogether!

What I was getting at is can you change the shadow orientation? Just never
thought of it before this question was asked.

To show the grid, the IV file must be in the sketch mode and you can't save
the file in the sketch mode.
Just wondering how you would save the background (on any format) with grids
on it (without using screenshot) ?

There is a background that has a grid drawn on it. Not the sketch grid.

To choose B.G. image: Application Tools-->Colors, Under Background drop-down,
pick "Background image". Click on File Name browse button. A few to choose from.
They are saved in ...\Inventor 7\Backgrounds. Some of them (hard to see unless
you actually hit open) have a grid that represents the ground.

They are just BMP files You should be able to save any file you want to that directory as
a BMP and use it.
