Update your graphics card drivers, Dell ships extremely old versions with their system. If your system requres (won't install the stock Nvidia driver from the Nvidia website) you should then go to http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ and download the nv_disp.inf file. You will need this to replace the file that comes from Nvidia.
Download and extract the Nvidia driver package. Replace the nv_disp.inf file with the one from laptopvideo2go and you will be able to install the latest Microsoft certified drivers from Nvidia.
You will need to replace this file with each download and extract from Nvidia when updating your card drivers.
I just got a M6600 with the Quadro 4000M as well. Can anyone comment on why Nvidia and/or Autodesk has not certifiied these cards yet? I was told by my reseller that Autodesk claimed the 3000 series cards were based off game card technology, so they were not certifying these, so we went with the 4000 series.
My current issue is that in AutoCAD products, my lineweights will not turn off for more than a moment. The minute I pan/zoom, the lineweights return. I've been searching for a switch or something that I'm missing, but nothing I've found works yet.
The funny part is that we also took delivery of a M6600 with a 3000M card in it, and it works fine.
Thoughts?
My issue has seem to have gone away, and the software is running fine. If I could only figure out why Inventor crashes on some maches when trying to use the hole feature, I'd be golden! (posted this as a sepate issue!)
