dell precision m4800 laptop

Hi all,

My boss is buying me a gift for all the extra effort I put in during the last 3 months to deliver to the customer.

He decided to buy me for my own use a New Laptop. Dell Precision Mobile workstation M4800.

I have never used a laptop for Inventor but plan on using it when i get this laptop.

From what I have read this is a real workhorse and durible product.

Just wondering if anyone has used this laptop for Inventor and what you r thoughts were on the M4800.

It always depends on what you're doing in Inventor. I haven't ever had issues running Inventor on my Dell laptop unless I was doing a large rendering, animation or opening an enourmous assembly. I have to switch over to my HP z820 with 48GB of RAM for the heavy lifting.

48 GB of RAM? That's unreal. I only have the bare minimum of 8 GB, but that is fine for component design. Nothing more than 30 part assemblies.
