custom parameters in frame generator

can someone tell me if it's possible to use custom parameters in the frame generator editing tools?
Example:

shorten a member by a length defined by a user parameter.

If not, then can it be done in 2012?

There was an article on adding custom parameters in FG. I was referring to it in our blog. Here is the video solution of the same. Is this what you are looking for in FG.

No, that's not what I want to know.

Let me rephrase:

I want to use a User Parameter as the numeric value in the FG editing commands (same as when you use a User Parameter for the numeric value in an Extrusion or Cut or whatever).

Find attached a pic shoing what I mean.
