#-char in 3Dmodel filename spoils initial IDW filename

#-char used n 3Dmodel filename spoils initial IDW filename.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create IPT with any volume element and save file with name 123#456.ipt

2. Create IDW and place base view of the model.

3. Press save and make sure initial name would be 123.idw (everything starting with first # would be cut off).

Minor but weird defect.

Accepted as reproducible on 2012 and 2014 releases.

Thank you for reporting this.

It seems this happens with other special characters (e.g. "%"),

and also reproducible when you save a presentation from an assembly.

I logged this as DID 1503290 into our product database and asked DEV to seek the cause.

Best,

It could be a Windows limitation, not all characters are allowed in file names. Try remaining the file within Windows Explorer and see if the problem persists.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

It's not the windows problem.

Try the described steps and replace the name suggested by Inventor with
expected (123#456.idw) and accept it - the result is now as expected.

Do you still have any doubt that Inventor is the thing to blame?
