active project

Gents,

The company I recently started at does not use project files or vault.

When I place a component into an assembly I get "The location of the selected file is not in the active project" everytime.

And I know this.

Project file is set to default and parts/assemblies are on different drives on a server.

Anyone know how to disable this prompt?

I can't find the option in the application options prompts tab, could be there, but there's alot of em.

Inv 2009.

Use a project file....  this is HIGHLY recommended.  If your company doesn't want to use them (wow) then at least create one for yourself.

Wow is what I also said, but I am hardly in a position to change company policy, just being hired and all.

If I create one myself, the problem I have is that parts are on different drives, lol.

I suppose I will make one for each drive, I don't know, I forsee problems.  Oh well.

I have a feeling if we switch to using vault, we will be remapping and renaming 6 years of parts.

Right click on 'Workspace' in the project editor and chose 'Add Path'.

Or alternatively, add your server based content as library paths to make them read only.
