Hello,
we have an aging Dell "workstation" with a Geforce 7800gtx in it (256MB DDR3 128bit I believe), running Inventor Suite 2010 on Vista x64, 1920x1200.
I found a Gefroce 8600gt (256MB DDR3 128bit) in the spare parts drawer 🙂 So I thought of replacing the 7800gtx with this.
I'm wondering if this worth the hassle at all: I think the 7800gtx is about as powerful as the 8600gt, if not even better. But the 8600gt has Directx10 support. I don't know if this would have any advantage over plain DX9, performance-wise?
What do you think, does it worth fiddling with this at all?
Thanks
I think you can get those information from http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html .
Hope that helps,
Thanks.
