What is AOEMView?

I just installed Inventor LT 2008 Preview, and it seems to have installed a
tool called AOEMView. It kinda looks like an AutoCAD environment, but
nothing in it really works. I can open a DWG, but cannot plot or look at
layers, or hardly anything.

Even Help->About doesn't work.

Is something wrong?

It is a viewing program so people without cad can open dwg files.

it's a plug in for inventor to use, so that it can open dwg files.

It's not intended to be started from the Start menu. It's used for Inventor DWG importing so you can preview your DWG file in one of the DWG import wizard dialog boxes and selectively import (if you choose to do so). That workflow is the only purpose for the viewer.
