Video card promo

If you're a spontaneous sort of person you can pick up a PNY Quadro 4
550XGL or PNY Quadro 4 750 XGL at half the retail price. But today is
the last day.
I came across this promo on the competition's newsgroup. It a promo for
people who use their software. But you purchase it from CompUSA, and
they don't ask questions.

You can't find the promo at the PNY site, but take this link and add
after the last / the name of ther competition.

i haven't recieved mine yet, but got am e-mail; telling me it was
shipped today. I ordered it last week, and I had to call them yesterday
to bug them.

Your link doesn't seem to work for me, but here is the one I know of.

Let me try/say that again:

copy this link to notepad:

http://www.pny.com/quadro/promotions/

and then append after the last /, the name of our INV biggest competitor.

Copy that into your browser.

Ah, I thought you meant PNY's competitor. They say for competitor users only. Did they ask you to verify that when you ordered?

Nope. Absolutely no mention of it. They just want to sell the card

FYI - just pick the link when ie launches just type in /SomethingWeird at
the end of the address. Save the Notepad technique.

Actually, it says November 30th is the last day 🙂

This kind of negates all the discussion we had yesterday - huh?
Those dirty rotten #$%'s, Why doesn't Autodesk talk to PNY about getting a
similar promotion?

Huh? They JUST changed it. It was October 31. Darn. I could have sat on
the fence about the purchase for another month

Hi Aaron,

Which card did you go with ?

At this point I'm real tempted to go with the better card for that break in
price... but I wonder if the performance is worth the difference.

I went with the 750 XGL. I wasn't really sure either. From what I read
here, I'm not sure the price dif is worth the performance. But such a
deal I couldn't pass up.

Also, it seems to me that the people having the most problems with R6,
are the ones with these Quadro 4 cards. Has any else noticed that?
Is anyone having fairly good preformancwe with Quadro 4on R6? If so what
OS and driver?

I hope I didn't throw away my money.

I went for a 750 for my P4. I've got a 550 in my P3
and I love it. More is better.

This leads to the question of how much better is the 750XGL than an ELSA
GLoria III?

p.s. those retail prices are exaggerated. real price at compusa is $285.68, and $676.22 respectively. -Joe

Those prices are MSRP = Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices
Which are almost always higher than what stores actually sell for.

I am running the 40.72 driver for the NVidia cards under the archive section, it is beta until MS approves it. This driver rocks!

i know what msrp stands for - but they put that on there like you getting a better deal then you really are. kinda like when a company gives out a catalog for free, and puts a $4 price tag on the cover. still a good deal though. -Joe

Will this driver work w/ IV5.3 or should it only be
used on 6?
