Video Card / Inventor 2012

Just was upgraded to Windows 7 Professional 64Bit and I currently have an NVIDIA Quadro FX580 video card.  The card worked great when I was running Windows XP 32bit and Inventor 2008 but now I am experiencing very slow transitions when moving an assembly or dragging a view in a .IDW.  I am also experiencing issues with google image searches and some other misc.  I was wondering if the video card I have is fine or is there something else I should be looking at?

This Direct3D graphics driver is Microsoft WHQL certified

The card and driver you have are both listed as Certified for Inventor 2012. What you may be experiencing is due to a chance made in the graphics that was introduced in Inventor 2011. You also are using a different DirectX version in Win7 than you were XP so that is something to consider. Win 7 and Vista are also more graphically demanding than Xp was.

You could try to change your Video Options from Performance or Quality to Compatibility mode which will make it comparable to older Inventor versions to see if the performance is more familiar.

I hope this helps.

Does the compatibilty mode affect new assemblies/drawings?  I'm only experiencing this with new assemblies.

I'd just upgrade to the latest driver version on nvidias site (275.89 released 08/12/2011) and move on...
