Very Weird Thing Just Happened

R7

I opened an assembly and... nothing was there. The nodes were in the browser
but no graphics.

OK, zoom all. Nothing.
Hmm, rezero spaceball then zoom all. Nope.
Unplug spaceball and stop driver then zoom all. Nada.
Restart IV, zoom all. Try again.
Reboot computer, zoom all. You're kidding right.
Open an old version. Look kid, you are trying my patience...

Finally I went an opened the IAM from another user's computer. Popped right
up. Saved it and returned to my desk, opened fine.

Weird!

Did you try to use another design view?
Maybe it is something with the new
design view stuff?

What happens now if you go open the old version that had the glitch?

Yes, tried all three design views (all hidden, none hidden, and the
default). I certianly hope it's not tied to this...

Mech, wadda' think I'm stupid...?

Actually I saved a few times so I pushed the old one out of the que (old
versions set to 3)

Sorry Sean. Not trying to get you in trouble. Just wondering if it was something with that one file.

I've had this happen once in R6 about 2-3 months ago.
I didn't have any patience to figure out what was happening to my precious
data - so I just copied everything from my backup drive and rebooted.

OK back to the basics. The candles forming the pentagram around your computer, scented or non-scented? What direction were you facing at the time? What type of incense were you burning at the time?

I had this happen in R6.

There was some problrm with the idv file.
I deleted it, IV created a new one, and everything was fine again.

Is this similar to the problem we are getting in R6, (sheet metal flat pattern).

The part has been modelled, saved and an idw created from it.
When we go back to the model flat pattern after a reboot (overnight),the flat pattern has gone?, but the drawing of the flat pattern remains.........the only way we have found to get around this is to delete the flat pattern and re create it, which deletes the drawing view, what a PITA.!

Also Havn't got R7 over here in sunny Northampton England,

Regards

I have seen something similar to this as well.

Try doing a rebuild all (tool menu) in the part and see if it heals itself.

Good luck, Jorgen

Ron, I was using my wife's Pottery Barn candles. Maybe that was the
problem. They don't have much voodoo in them..

Jorgen, I should have thought of that. By opening it on the other computer
and overwriting the DV I think we essentially did that.
