Dan,

Sounds like you are going down this path, so just a heads up.  When we moved from 2010 to 2011, we had several issues with vault.  AD could never really figure it out.  I had to format the drive on the server and reload the OS and SQL and then restore my vault backup.  You can read more about it here.

Not everyone has had this problem, but it has been several of us.  Hopefully you will not have any issues and it will go smooth.  If you do, then you at least have a head-start on getting the problem resolved.

We are running 2011 now and have been for several months without any issues.  Cant say that when we first made the move.
