Using ellipse for boundary of detail view

How to use ellipse as boundary for detail view?  I can only see rectangles and circles as my choices.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome!

At this time I believe that those are the only available options for detail views.  Breakout views allow sketched boundaries,... but that won't help you.  Smiley Frustrated

Perhaps this is one for the Idea Station.

take a look at this post... Is this what you want to do with an elipse?

when the square peg doesnt fit in the round hole, get a bigger hammer!

Its just 2 breakout views getting rid of half the excess view at a time, project sausage geometry from sketch 2 to sketch 3
