I want it to stay right where it is. It is related to the same
operations in IV that it is in every other Windows application.

umm no Hal... i dont know how u guys work but i go fast and i like things to be in the same place they were 2 seconds ago... i right click and left click before the menu even gets on the screen... no time to waste - i lose enough time/money from IV as it is - i gotta eat too - not just autodesk... why cant the paste go where it is in every other windows program (like u said Hal) - right below the copy!

I was once told by someone at Autodesk that the UI is frozen long before the product functionality is, because it has to be synchronized across all the languages, so I doubt this would be changed soon for at least this reason. There's probably also a potential issue with Microsoft certification that may or may not be in works.

And to keep flogging this horse - how many times do u use paste over "finish edit"??? there is NO justification for a command that is used maybe once a day (if that) to be on the top of such an important and handy menu... what if ur turn signal lever switched to ur emergency brake every once in a while.... what the @#$@ is going thru heads... its about efficiency, simple as that, autodesk say it with me... "efficiency". Efficiency comes from simplicity and standardization - IV got half of it right. Boy - i could go on for hours on this paste thing.

Then RMB and hit "F" , it's faster!

>there is NO justification for a command that is used maybe once a day

I think this is in YOUR workflow. Why should Autodesk change things just
for YOUR WORKFLOW?
IMHO, Autodesk has a LOT more important things to work on than to satisfy
your desires.

He's wasted more time making this stupid thread than he ever would by having to alter his workflow.

Isn't this a peer-to-peer forum? Jayman what do you expect us to do about your problem? Anne, why is this thread still here?

Just bitching... if i hit an "F" key it means taking my hand off the spaceball - efficiency... remember?? time wasted...
It is a peer to peer forum - i am looking for agreement. You dont have to reply - so dont... thanx.

Then re-program one of your Spaceball keys for "F"
and move on.

Thanx Sean - i appreciate your understanding - especially from someone like urself - on contract and a P.eng. Those that take this too personal - i cant help. I just like to stir the pot... everone seemed to be quite stirable today... maybe i shouldnt hold back anymore on commenting on the horrid/basic questions that appear here. We've all put them up, and to my knowledge have never posted the attitude towards someone that i have seen here today towards myself. 😐
