Tapered Driving Cam | with followers....

"HELP!"   I need to re-create a solidworks model in Inventor 2012.

Tapered_Cam.png

I have screen shots showing the cam for reference. In solidWorks there is a "Wrap" feature that was used to create the part. Inventor no doubt has a feature to do it with but I am drawing a blank every way I turn to find it. Please help if you know how to create a part like the image attached. It is a tapered cylinder, with grooves that wrap around it in a rise and fall pattern for lifting and dropping an object as it rotates....

"Thanks very much in advance for any help!"

"Seriously!?"  Nobody knows how to create this part in Inventor?

How much are you willing to pay?
How much training do you have in Inventor?
Attach the sldprt here.

BTW: The wrap feature does not result in the correct geometry for that cam in SolidWorks.
This problem is well known and has been discussed here and on the SolidWorks forum many times over the years.

JDMather,

Whew! I didn't think anyone was going to even try to help with this. The Solidworks part was actually created by a company for us in Florida and is inaccurate as you stated. This is of course the reason for my having to re-model it in Inventor. I'm pretty good with Inventor, but I can't seem to find anythng within its tools to help me recreate the features effectively. Any Idea how to compile this part, or where to begin?

"Thanks in advance for any help you can give!"

Am I missing something here?
Was not your second post less than an hour from the first? (and thus my "how much are you willing to pay - emergency response)

The fastest way to get help here is to completely describe your problem statement.

Attach the desired displacement diagram, the sldprt or any and all information you have.
In the meantime you might study this
http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/content/DSG322/Inventor%20Tutorials/Inventor%2011%20Tutorial%2011.pdf

(with an understanding that tutorial was written for Inventor 11 (no, not 2011) and there are much easier ways to do the model today)

But until you reveal more information and the version of Inventor you are using....

Attach your file here....
