Style library migration 2012 to 2013

Hi,

I have installed the 2013 version of Inventor Professional 2013 in French version.

I can't migrate the style library. When I open it on the utility to migrate the button migrate is grayed.

And in Inventor i can not activate this library. Inventor tell me that styles are missing.

any idea ? Bug or not

Regards

Dom

Hi Dom

I am having this problem as well as some of my customers.  Hopefully someone can clear up if there is another way to do this, as it seems the normal way by using the Style Library Manager is not working.  Is there something we are missing?

Hi All,

Try to rename Lighting.xml so it  is not available anymore, and restart the Migration manager.

Hi Pierre

Thanks for the fix.

I am however having problems bringing through Materials and colours.  I have used the "Migrate Inventor Styles" option in both the Material Browser and Appearance Browser.  This worked to create a new Library in each instance.  Although when I start a new part or close inventor and reopen a part, this Library is no longer available.  I have to open it every time.

Is there another way to Migrate the Material and Appearance styles to have them available in all existing and new parts?  Have I gone wrong somewhere?

You will have to add the newly created libraries to the project you're using, I think.

Hi Sam

Thanks for the reply.  Yes adding it to the active libraries for that project worked.  Although this is not the best workflow for a large firm with many designers and projects.

A work around we've found is to import the 2012 Material Library into the Material and Appearance Libraries of 2013 and then add the required or custom materials to the default Inventor 2013 library.  This may take a long time to do, but once done the libraries will not have to be linked to each project.
