We are using the educational suite network version of Autodesk Design Academy 2013 in particular Inventor 2013
ForIT Admins – The suite works ok on all computers.
For restricted profiles Teachers / Pupils – Inventor works ok the first time the program is used but after logging off and back on again or rebooting we find that in the Environments section the Stress analysis, Inventor Studio and BIM exchange buttons are inactive.
Subsequently after reboots / log offs and log ons when an IT Admin uses the same machine the buttons are available to the IT Admin but not to teachers or pupils.
I suspect this is caused by a user profile issue.
The process we use to check that program is working ok is as follows….
1. New Project
2. Choose “Metric” tab then choose Standard (mm).ipt
3. Draw a shape – Rectangle
4. Right click on the shape then click “Finish 2D sketch”
5. Click on Extrude button
6. Click the tick to set the “extrude”.
7. Click “Environments” menu
8. Click on “Inventor Studio”
9. Click on “Render Image”
10. Click on Render button to render the output.
Step 7/8 is when we notice the buttons are greyed out.
We would like the suite to work correctly for all users so we’d be grateful for any advice or guidance you can give!
Computer specifications are as follows…
Computer: HP Compaq 8000 / 8200 / 8300 Elite Ultra Slim
O/S Windows XP SP3
Memory: 4Gb RAM
Memory used during the task around 25%
Display: Intel Express Q45/Q43 chipset
Thank you in advance for your time!
John
Somewhere there is a document with the "Privedge" levels required for Inventor. You are going to need at least "Power User" at the local machine.
