Spring animation side to side like a whip antenna

Hello,

I would like to animate the model so that it moves like a whip antenna.

I would like to show the spring flexing back and forth with everything above the spring moving side to side as spring moves.

I have tried several ways to do this but have not had any luck. I haven't done a lot of animation.

I thought that maybe someone out there could give me an idea of what i'm not doing right or if it can be done with inventor that i'm using.

I have attached the assembly and parts.

Any help would be wonderful. It doesn't have to perfect it's for a presentation.

Thanks

Phil

Search YouTube for: Inventor, +adaptive spring. It shows a video how to make a coil spring adaptive. If the rest of your assemble constraints are proper the other items should move.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Blair,

I will take a look later and post back to let you know how it works out.

Thanks

The video, shows the spring extending and retracting. Not sure if it could be adapted to bend/flex as it would require the path to bend in both directions.
