Solid to unbend 2d for WJ cutout

I am very new to Inventor, and I am looking for a way to unbend parts we will be getting from our customer.  They send them as CATIA CATPart solids and I haven't been able to unbend to export flat to a WJ cutout dxf.

I have attached the CATIA solid and the dxf as it would need to be.

If someone could please explain exactly what to do so that I can reproduce, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Are these supposed to match each other or just the format?

The dxf does not appear to have been created from this Catia part.

From the sample you attached

Open the Catia part.

Right click on one of the surfaces and select

Export Face as DXF

repeat for the other one.

It is the same part, just not exported from the CAT file.  It was created based on the dimensions of the CAT part unfolded.

I'm looking for a way to unbend the part in Inventor and export the flat surface all at once with hole positioning.

Thanks for looking at it!

This is what the CatPart looks like after converting to sheet metal and setting the thickness correctly:

I ignored the sketch for holes and the composite, what ever it's for.

Here's the dxf for others.

Thanks...that worked great.  Setting the thickness was the missing step for the unfold.

Do you know of a way to get the 3d sketch holes to unfold with the piece?  The holes are important for the piece and would make it easier not to have to extract them individually.  I saw how to do this with 2d sketches, but not 3d.

Create the holes in the folded part. The part as opened only had sketches for the holes.
