I am trying to create a sheetmetal part and flat pattern of a 72" radius section with 3" split flange top and bottom. See attachment. I have searched the Discussion Group and several other sites with no results. Hope someone can help me with a solution.
Thanks,
Dave
Hi Dave.Breiner,
I think you can do this using the Contour Flange tool as described here:
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Inventor/Placing-flanges-on-a-curved-part/m-p/3798896#M463172
Creating the slits on the flange accurately might be the challenge though.
Did you happen to try the Contour Flange tool yet?
Edit: Attached is quick example file done in Inventor 2010 ( I didn't know your version, but that's as far back as I can go.)
I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Curtis,
Thank you for this suggestion. Irt is very close to what I am looking for. I will test it out and see if I can get the flat pattern and holes placed.
Thanks much for your quick reply.
