Sheet Metal Flat Pattern Has No Solid/Object?

Hello All,

First, I feel obligated to remind everyone that I do not use the sheet metal tools in IV all that often so I fully expect that I have done something completely wrong but I can't figure out what it is so I kindly beg you all for help.

I have a sheet metal part that in the folded part view looks like this:

FLAT PATTERN ISSUE #1.jpg

In flat pattern view (and any subsequent flat pattern drawing) it looks like this:

FLAT PATTERN ISSUE #2.jpg

What have I done to deserve this?

Hi,

First when i open the part  i was notified that your ipt depends of a AP-20 GAGE - LAYOUT SKETCH-WEST.ipt.. Same happens there??

Ok...No problem because i click on SKIP and i get the part anyway.

Yes....same happens here in Inventor 2012.

So....i Deleted the Flat Pattern and create a new one and get the immediately what you want.

My apologies, I actually forgot that the lengths of these were derived from a layout sketch I did. I should have attached that part.

Secondly, thanks for the help. I didn't know you could delete a flat pattern actually Smiley Embarassed. I don't use these tools often. Anyway, that did the trick, I appreciate it immensely!

This happens to me sometimes too. I don't know why. By deleting the flat pattern it also deletes the view on your IDW. Edit the flat pattern and allign it again will fix the flat pattern too, without deleting the view on the IDW.
