Saving assembly parts as a new (sub)assembly?

Hi, this may be a noobie question, but i cant find a way to do it.  

Can I select a bunch of parts in an assembly and say "save these pieces as a new assembly"?

It is just such a needed tool but I cant find an easy way to accomplish this.

select your parts, right click, select component, then select demote and name your assembly
