Saving IDW, IAM or IPT forcing Excel save?

I've done this multiple times in the past and not had this issue.

At present, i'm working on a small sub-assembly - with about 9-10 unique parts. Each part is linked to the same excel file.

Any time i save any of the parts in inventor - regardless of whether i have the spreadsheet up - i'm getting a dialog prompting me to save the XLSX file. This happens without any iLogic code in the parts. The only 'link' they contain is going to parameters and clicking the link button and choosing the XLSX file, that's it.

Furthermore, each dialog seems to generate a new session of excel.

Any idea what the issue is?

Hi! The behavior does not sound right. If the Excel file is not changed, there is no need to save. This is a new behavior to me. If you can provide files exhibiting the behavior, I can take a look to see where the problem is.

Many thanks!

I have nothing sending info from Inventor to Excel. So there's nothing to require a save of the excel file.

I think I tracked it down to a bug on my end somewhere generating excessive instances of excel.

Thanks 🙂
