I've designed a lift that uses a 24" pallet. Now i want to reuse this design for a 26" pallet and a taller lift. So i tried using pack and go. then i renames the main assembly. And made some changes. but i've found it is changeing the parts on my first design. What did i do wrong. and what is the best way to reuse designs. Thankyou.
Did you use the Pack and go project file or make a new one?

I had similar problems.
Having renamed the top level item (normallythe IDW)You have to rename all the ipt using the design assistant.
You can then move the whole lot back to it's ariginal project folder if you desire.
