Reusing Inventor 2014 DWG titleblock info/sketch with Inventor 2014 IDW, how?

I currently have possession of a 2014 Inventor DWG that shows the current titleblock information.  I wish to reuse this particular titleblock in a 2014 Inventor IDW file.

How do I go about copying the titleblock from the DWG to the IDW?

Any tips, suggestions or errata would be appreciated!

Hi

I hope that I understand your question correctly, as the solution apears to be too simple. (You do state that it is an Inventor DWG)

Option 1

Open the DWG, then "File, Save as" OR "File,Save copy copy as Template" Change the file type from "Inventor Drawing files (*.dwg) TO Inventor Drawing Files (*.idw)

Option 2:

Open the DWG file

Copy the Title block from from "Drawing Resources, TitleBlocks." (RMB, Copy)

Start a new Drawing.

Delete the Current title block, Listed Under Sheet.

RMB on the Drawing Resources, select paste.

It wil either prompt you to overwrite the current title block, or it will paste a new title block if it was named differently.

Insert the new title block as per normal.

Save the file as a template, or drawing file. (IDW)

Thank you rhasell for the quick reply.  Your assistance is appreciated!

I used your Option 1 suggestion and got the results I was looking for.  I got lost by thinking too much on this subject.  Smiley Happy
