Hello Inventor people,
I had to delete my old version of Inventor, wipe the hard drive of all the old files, and everything, because of a startup issue. It would say that MD.dll was not functional, or something of that nature. It happened five weeks ago, and the general conclusion from online posts was to uninstall and reinstall.
So I did, and things have been good. I still have to remove the "Pop" sound, but in general, getting Inventor back to its old state is coming along.
Until I tried to get the STL files I deal with on my 3D printer working. I had an add on as per this website and it was great. It did exactly as I needed.
http://grabcad.com/questions/tutorial-convert-stl-mesh-to-solid-file-in-autodesk-inventor
Now the software link is dead and says that:
The Inventor 2013-based technology preview of the Mesh Enabler has ended. A non-expiring version of the Mesh Enabler add-in for Inventor 2014 is available via the Autodesk App Exchange for Autodesk Subscription Customers. Download from the Autodesk App Exchange.
Then, if I click, it says:
The page you are attempting to access is unavailable.
I have also looked at trying to download this software
But it does not provide a download link or source. I am not a subscriber, I am a student. I have been using the STL software add on to transfer files between Blender and Inventor, Blender being one of my primary go-to CAD software for the last 10 years. I use it to take OBJ and other files, fix up the mesh, and transfer it off to Inventor to print off files or add mounting pins and holes as needed.
How can I get the tools to convert STL to Solid conversion tools again? This tool was, and still is, invaluable for me. I need it ASAP.
