Recreating an assembly from a derived part

I have a derived part I made from an assembly. I seem to have lost the original assembly and now have only the derived part. I now need to make changes to the assembly. Is there a way I can recreate the assembly from the derived part?

Not easily. It would be better to recreate the assembly and make a new derived part. How did this happen?

Saved the derived part to another storage device. Some things got lost on the primary. Long story short all I have is the derived part. The parts relatively easy to make, but the assembly takes some patience. Oh well thanks for the help.
