hi,
I have same issue in inventor 2013. when i turn on punch representation, It doesnt show punch sketch (louver in my sample part) on derived part. it works fine in base part.
is it just my problem or known issue?
thanks
Please see the attached model, and it works fine on R2012 and R2013.
hi,
thanks for reply.
I open your sample parts. I find out one thing. see attachment.
why the sketch not on the part? it is flowing around. does that trick made it work?
So it is how we make punch tool instead of sheet metal problem.
thanks again.
one more testing, the sketch is not showing up when I switch mirror plate from xy to yz.
test3.zip is the punch i am testing. the sketch is not showing up.
thanks
Yes, it will be reproducible when changing the mirror plane, and the position of punch representation looks incorrect. And this issue has been tracked in our system as 1471193.
thanks for the reply.
is there any way we can look for the track number at system? such as web site?
Any progress on this topic? im working with inventor 2018 and still have this issue.

Hi! In terms of the exact workflow, I don't believe there is a change in behavior as of Inventor 2021. But, I suspect this particular request may be fulfilled by our internal project called Model States. Please sign up Inventor Feedback Community (https://autode.sk/InventorBeta). There you can try the latest internal builds with in-development functionalities in an install-free environment and give feedback to the project teams.
The workflows we are working on eliminating the need to derive a part in order to have a different shape. And, the punch center in the flat pattern can be retrieved properly (in the drawing too).
Many thanks!
