ProE 2001 to Inventor5.3

Does anyone know how to import an assembly from ProEngineer 2001 into IV5.3 I also have the assembly as iges files, but when I open the toplevel assembly there is nothing shown. Any idea's ??

I am not sure what version of ProE is the last that you can just open
directly. Have you tried just changing the file Open dialog to Prt and ASM
and opening it?

If that doesn't work I think your best bet is going to be step files.

Any Pro/E files after release 18 have to be
converted to step files first.

If you need any help, after the importing of the
step files, to modify them, let me know.  I have had some experience with
this issue, as we have several thousand Pro/e files here that have been
translated.
