Please help - can snapshot be filed?

I have a very large assy consisting of 100's of parts. Because we are in constant communication with clients and are printing out certain zoomed in views, we are having trouble keeping the printed copies on file because someone will take them in the field and they're gone. Is there a way to take this large assy, and take a "snap shot" of just a small portion and be able to save just that view as an iges? Thanks

What about hitting the print screen button and
pasting in word?

I did that (thinking this was my solution). However, in IV, you need to change your background color to "presentation" color - otherwise, when you paste into Word, the background color comes with it. Now that the background is white, IV wants to enhance any black edges and that's exactly how it prints. It sort of looks like a fat crayon was used to draw the graphic.....not good. The only part of this that does work good is if your pasted graphic is similar to a thumbnail size in Word....then it's very clear. As soon as you enlarge - fat crayon time. Isn't there a way (while in IV) to save snapshots of your zooms for future use? I'll have to dig out my book and look into this.

Try setting up a Design View.

You can save to a .bmp. Set the file type to .bmp, click on
Options button, set your X resolution to a desirable factor, leave Y at 0(it
will default to same as X), then Save.

The "Save to JPEG and Compiled XGL" program
on Charles Bliss site will do what you want in IV7. I am not sure if it will
work with IV6. May be worth a shot.
