Placing Components with iLogic

When I insert a part/componenet of the iLogic into a new assembly it renames the parent iLogic assembly (because it's a new instance) as well as all the children of that iLogic assembly by adding a " -01 ", "-02" etc...

However the rule(s) for the placed iLogic assembly do not change the file names (adding "-01", "-02" etc..)

I must be missing something... as having to click through all the error pop-ups and open each individual rule to re-name it to what the program has re-named it as is quite a pain.

Does anyone know of how to have the rules update with the part/assembly name changes?

Thank You.

Cody

what you need to do is "stabilize" the names of children in your assembly. This means opening the assembly and renaming the component in the Inventor browser. You also need to use this "stabilized name" in your ilogic rules.

Then when the file name is renamed eg from "mypart"  to "mypart-01" everything will still work as the ilogic rules use the stabilized name
