Opening DWG file crashes Inventor

I have tried this on two computers with the same results Both machines are
PIII 650, running Windows XP Pro SP1, and Inventor 6.0 SP1.

In Inventor

File > Open

For the file type select DWG, and then select OPTIONS

This brings up the "Drawing File Import Options" screen. Use the default
settings, and then click NEXT.

On the "Layer and Object Import Options" screen use the default settings,
and then click NEXT.

On the "Import Destinations Options" Screen go down to the bottom of the
screen and select ADVANCED OPTIONS.

Click on the FONT TAB, and Inventor crashes

i've run into the same problem on two computers.
i have also posted this question on autodesk support request, but they could
not duplicate the problem.
the following is their solution which i have just completed but it didn't
work.

I think there may be an improper registry entry for VoloView that may the
reason for crash.

Please do the following:

1. Uninstall Inventor 6 and Volo View Express using the Add/Remove Programs.

2. Reboot.

3. Delete the install folder (default C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 6

4. Edit the registry and delete the two Inventor 6 folders, Found at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor &

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor.

5. Reboot the machine and log in in VGA mode

6. Install Inventor 6, volo view in VGA mode.
