Motion in assemblies

I have an assembly made of sub assemblies. Components in the Sub-assemblies can move. When inserted into the Top level assembly the components can not move. Is there a way to make the components in the sub assembly move in the top level assembly with out remaking the whole top level assembly out of the individual components?

Make the subs adaptive.  You can then drive
constraints within them (may have to check "drive adaptively" in the motion
dialogue)

I feel for you I know exactly what you are talking about and as far as I can tell you can't do anything about it! I have a spherical bearing in a sub-assembly that doesn't behave correct in the top level assembly! It works fine in the sub-assembly but won't move around in the top level!

I tried the adaptive thing and it does work. How does this effect the appearance of the assembly in the drawing module?

How ever the model appears in the modeling
environment is how it will appear when making a drawing view..
