I am looking for a way to miter two pieces of rectangular hollow section.
I have placed the parts from the content centre as custom parts, now I am looking for a way to perform a miter on the them where they intersect.
I am aware I can perform the mitre if the sections had been created through frame generator but I was wondering if miter could be used outside the fg environment.
Thanks
I don't believe there is any miter tool per se, outside of frame generator. You would probably have to cut the two pieces to the desired angles, and then assemble with constraints.
Not that it matters, but is there a reason you don't want to use FG?

Hello and thank you for your reply. I suspected this would be the case. My frame generator is currently encountering errors which I why I was looking for another way to miter the part. I will use the sketch creation method and extrude cut to remove the angle section. Thank you for your help.
No problem,... let us know if we can help with your FG.

I have used the chamfer tool for "mitering" some square/rectangle ends that frame generator could not miter. Not much different than creating a sketch and extruding a cut, but it was a quicker/easier route for me.
Good Luck
I have posted a message here regarding the fg error, there were a few other people with the same issue.
Here is one of the posts :
I have checked and doubled checked my cc libraries and they all seem correctly configured but I still get this error message when trying to insert the fg components.
Interesting,.. I posted a reply, but I don't know if it will be much help... just digging. Have you logged a service case on this one?

I logged a support call regarding this issue and a few things were tried to resolve the issue but the advice in the end was to perform an repair / re-install of Inventor, this did fix the issue however the problem has reoccurred.
