Its just not acceptable any more

How can you use a visual design tool when it displays incorrect visuals?

Actually, I routinely test new Nvidia Drivers on my normal system. Have
loaded maybe 6-8 different versions and have never had this problem.
Currently running Win 2K, 43.51 With a GeForce 420MX 64MB without
graphics glitches. I have had the problem on laptops running ATI or
Intel Graphics chips. Maybe it's a Quadro thing? Or Win XP? Swaptype is
at 2.

Games usually only use a small subset of the opengl command set. That is why the early gaming cards only had a mcd instead of icd. If I remember correctly mcd is mini-client driver while icd = installable client driver. The point is most gaming cards used to not even have a full opengl driver, just enough to play a game.

You don't need your IT guy.... 🙂

Go to Tools > Application Options > Hardware. Pick on the Diagnostics
button at the bottom, with a file open.

Driver is fine but IV won't know what settings to use with it. I bet your
swaptype is set to 2 as an example. What do your diagnostics say?

Sorry about the empty post. It happens. I just wanted ti note that I got a laugh out of that post from rlthomas. I had to read it several times to convince myself you did NOT write "Instable" client driver.

It's late in the day. I'm getting tired.
